Lovely Libby Loves to Linger in London Longtime

It's so lovely that Libby lives so close and we try to catch up every couple of months with either me going up there or here coming down here. Here she is posing in front of my old shop - HMS President (1918)....Libby preferred this picture of the two of us, even though I'm all blurry !!!!!!!!!!
I prefer this one, where both our faces are clearly visible !
Here i am posing in my scary shirt in front of St Pauls...
And just because it's one of my all time favourite libby photos...

Some beautiful scenic shots taken by Ian...

Cocktails Can Be Dangerous...

I had a farewell cocktail with my mate Di a few weeks ago before she went back to Sydney.
I decided to take her to some of my favourite cocktail bars which was a good idea, in principle. For some strange reason I decided to order this - This may look like an ordinary cocktail, but in fact, it is a deadly weapon !! Much to my surprise (and horror) it had chilli flakes in it and well, let's just say, they took me by surprise....ouch, never again....

Work Summer BBQ

We had a summer BBQ at my bosses new house a few weeks ago. Here is Karina and I as we calmly instruct the boys how to construct.... They seemed to have the right poles...
And there were certainly enough of them to be able to contruct it successfully...
But still, it took a rather long time...
With a little help from my bosses eldest son, they got there in the end and something vaguely resembling what they wanted appeared...
We had absolutely amazing food...

And overally had lots of fun...

Building Things....

I love building things. All sorts of things, and after my trip to IKEA recently, I needed to build a lot of things !!! Claire intently studies the instructions (I usually just ignore them and go for it, but that has got me into trouble in the past....) for the new TV cabinet...
Surely all these screws must go somewhere?
I also built this filing cupboard for my room...
And a new chair for my desk - the before shot...
And, as if by magic - after...

My new view...

I moved my room around recently and also bought myself a new bed so now i have a lovely view of the sky and I don't have to move an inch...
It also gives me a great view of my very special wind chimes....

My Birthday Drinks....

I also had a few drinks for my birthday...

Vaughn, James and I...Daniela...
Lou, Sal, Lucy, Huma & Sinead...
Lost in the crowd...
The lovely Andreas and I...
Scott and Zaneta...
Naomi, Emma and Lisa...
Elizabeth, Daniela and Abi (who misplaced her hair on the way...)
George, Lisa and I...

My Birthday Dinner...

The table was set and I was ready.... The champagne was chilled...
The breadsticks had been taste tested by my flatmate Kate and I...
But would anyone come?
Yes thankfully, they would ! Tanya was the first "offical" guest to arrive...I decided to open some very special champagne for my birthday. I opened the very bottle that broke my toe only weeks before....
here is a re-enactment for those that missed it... I love getting presents, I mean - who doesn't ? As you get older you start having those pre-birthday worries - will anyone get me anything? Am I a bit old to be getting excited about birthday cards and wrapping paper and what may exist beneath? Either way - this, my 32nd birthday was one of the most exciting, because of one special present, a present I received that i had never received before.....it was a .....

wait for it...

the excitement is growing....
what could it be....
A LABEL MAKER !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not quite sure Claire shared my excitement...
And then, the labels began...
Overall it was a brilliant night...and thanks to Claire for organising & cooking !!
