Filming in Majorca (well, someone has to do it)

You generally think of Majorca as being a tropical paradise, a place where people go to top up their tans and engage in hedonistic behaviour....I saw a very different side of Majorca because instead of sun and sand, we got lots of wind and even snow when we were filming this castle !!
Not that I can complain though, the hotel was amazing (more photos to come) and I did make a few new friends...

My godchildren...

I am very lucky and honoured to have 3 lovely godchildren (well technically I am Isla's spiritual guide, but it sorta means the same thing)...I first became a godmother over a decade ago when my friend Kathy had Rhys - we spent a lot of time together in those early years and it was really sad when I moved over to the UK...I still like to keep in touch with him and every now and then he gets a nice surprise in the post !
And this was taken a couple of years ago - he's all grown up now !!
My mate Angela then asked me to be her youngest daughter Audrey's godmother - I was so excited to meet her for the first time...Spot the baby...
And this was taken last year...Then came along my little niece Isla, who was a trend setter early on with her cool pink converse... The same excitement over came me when I went to meet her for the first time a couple of months after she was born....This was taken on my trip back home last year...
And I was also lucky to be there for her naming ceremony....
It's actually Isla's 2nd birthday today and I can't wait to see her and Rhys & Audrey very soon !!

My godmother Margaret...

Am due to go back to Australia for a wee holiday soon and that always gets me thinking and then I generally start going through old photos ! I found a few oldies that I wanted to share...

This is one of my godmother (aka Aunty Margaret the third) on the day of my baptism (i think that is Uncle Brian in the background - great hair !!) This is on my first communion...
And of course, my confirmation !!!
And this was taken last year.....

The water fountains on the Southbank....

The Bever House Nativity Set

We went all out with the house decorations this year and got some mates around to help out. It's amazing what you can do with a pair of scissors, some glitter pens and some of that stuff that you mould and then cook in the oven....
Claire is still laughing at my inability to draw....this started off as a donkey, but somehow turned into a hippo....

Up, Up And Away

Just a walk in the park...

Take one pug...
Add one park...
And you have a walk in the park...

After 10 years, my passport collection is finally complete...

New Years Ski Trip - Courmayeur, Italy

For New Years 07/08 I decided to do something a little bit different, and very unusual for me - I gathered a few mates together and we all went skiing !!! Claire tests her new boots....
Abi assumes the position, as Claire adjusts and Elizabeth puts on her bright red ski hat, just to make sure we can always find her....(if she happens to fall over the mountain after being pushed over by the ski lift, or something like that)I hadn't been skiing since the 1992 Loreto Ski Trip, so let's just say I was a little bit rusty and had to have a few lessons. Problem is, there were only kids classes left so I was stuck with a bunch of 7-10 year olds !!! I didn't mind so much, it made me look better I guess....it was just the giant animals on the kiddy slopes that embarrassed me slightly....oh and because I had stupidly bought a bright red ski jacket, all the parents assumed that I was the teacher so looked a little shocked when they saw how slow I was, but I soon cleared that up... Claire and Abi examine a snowflake...
I only got lost a few times in the heavy snow....
It was incredibly cold and even got to -10 but this was taken on a hot day...There are lots of things to be aware of when you hit the slopes....As part of the package we stayed in a really nice hotel and it was great to hang out with the locals on New Years Eve. We had champagne outside before the meal and I've never seen so much fur in my life !!! They served up this amazing 10 course meal (well, amazing to those who eat normal foods, I could only have about 1 course, but even that one was amazing) and then we danced the night away with our new colleagueas....I can't wait to go again...
